Voice announcement system VAS-0651

Purpose and scope

The Voice Announcement System VAS-0651 (further - VAS) is intended for:

- providing voice information about stops, advertising, information messages during the ride in 1-3 languages;

- transmission of the driver’s voice information via microphone into the passenger compartment and outside;

- automatic loading of text information on the LED screens of the scrolling text display in the passenger cabin and on the route indicator display.

Information is recorded from a PC to a SD flash card, including a card of the SD HC format. Determination of the coordinates of the stops is carried out using the GLONASS/GPS system.

VAS can be used on any type of transport with the on-board network voltage of 12…24 V.

The device contributes to the increased safety in transport (as the driver does not have to give voice information about the stops).

VAS is compatible with all LED display panels of the type “LED route display panel-0630” and scrolling text displays STD-11XX, forming together with them the Route Information System RIS-0630.

VAS supports the operation mode in the multi-unit system / train in the audio mode as well as in the mode of displaying information on the display panel.

VAS provides binding of the message “Caution, doors are closing” to the moment of closing the doors.

VAS is compatible with the media system “PTV-TRION” which is a part of the regional automated centralized warning system.

VAS is compatible with the “Speaking city” system.

Design and principle of work

The device consists of a VAS unit and a microphone.

The VAS contains a microcontroller, GLONASS/GPS coordinates determination unit, an SD FLASH memory card, an mp3 decoder, a 2-channel amplifier, an indicator, outer microphone, a power supply, 2 RS-485 interfaces.

The first interface RS-485 is used for communication with the route indicator table and scrolling text display inside the compartment.

The second interface is intended for the use with other devices and systems, e.g. the system ‘Speaking city”.

On the front panel of VAS there are: a toggle switch for turning the VAS on, 5 control buttons, a microphone connector, 2 USB connectors, a slot for the SD card and an indicator.

On the rear panel of VAS there are: a “Power” connector for turning the power on, acoustics, an “Interface” connector for 2 RS-485 interfaces, 4 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 3 interfaces 1-Wire, line audio-in and audio-out connectors, a GLONASS/GPS antenna connector.

An SD card can be inserted from the front and from the side. 2 flash cards can be inserted in the VAS at the same time.

VAS has a front and rear microphone jack.

The overall and installation dimensions are shown in the Pic. 2.

Warranty

The warranty period of operation is determined at one year from the date of sale, provided that the consumer observes the conditions of operation, transportation and storage.

The warranty does not apply to products which detected defects were a result of mechanical damage resulting from careless handling, damage to the paintwork of PCBs or unauthorized replacement of radioelements.

The warranty does not apply to products with a modified electronic serial number.

Average service life – not less than 7 years.
